Reflection behind the project

At present, the construction of information technology has entered a new concept and demand. The Ministry of Education has put forward the concept of “application is the king, service is the top”. Our school has also clarified the core concept of deep integration of information technology with education, teaching, and management services, with the main line of “filling the gaps in infrastructure, laying the foundation for data governance, providing services through process reconstruction, promoting teaching through information applications, and ensuring network security”. From the construction of information infrastructure, the integration of information technology with education and teaching We aim to create a “Smart West” in four aspects: improving service and management capabilities, and building a network information security system. We aim to comprehensively enhance the school’s information technology public basic service capabilities, build a comprehensive data asset and sharing system, promote the construction of information technology teaching platforms, enhance network security management and control capabilities, and assist in the innovative development of the school.

In 2016, our school launched a card swiping machine check-in system, which has been in use for 7 years and has solved the attendance needs of our school’s academic affairs. It empowers the school’s attendance work, reduces the pressure of attendance management, and facilitates convenient attendance for teachers and students. At the same time, the management of attendance by the leadership is also more convenient. However, due to the development of school management concepts and new technologies, the existing system cannot meet the demands of daily teaching and cannot provide better learning services for teachers and students. We need to build a new integrated service platform for teacher and student education and teaching with a deep integration of education, teaching, and management services as the core, in order to provide better services for daily learning of teachers and students, more efficient assistance for management services, the most direct transmission of information, and a wider range of tentacles, so that learning resources can be better utilized and displayed, truly reflecting the supportive role of informatization.

Urgency and necessity of project construction

The development speed of information technology is rapid, and the construction of information infrastructure has become increasingly perfect. The application of information technology needs to provide embedded services for teachers, students, and various departments, reflecting the functions of information technology in management, teaching, life, and decision-making.

A. Teaching services

With the advancement of teaching informatization, it is necessary to provide better learning services for teachers and students, ranging from the release of course information and holiday adjustment information to the open utilization of learning space resources and the data basis in teaching evaluation. These are all feasible areas that can provide better services and improve.

Through this platform, students are provided with better information access and resource development, providing teachers with more teaching auxiliary data basis, reflecting the information technology concept of shifting from management to service.

B. Student Management

At present, the student affairs department is unable to timely and effectively control students’ class and learning situations in student management. There is a certain blind spot in student management work, especially the need to focus on transforming periodic result management into a real-time process, and promptly remind and intervene when students encounter potential safety hazards.

Through this platform, real-time information on students’ class situations is provided to student management staff, enabling them to receive abnormal data alerts in a timely manner and carry out management and guidance work, reflecting a more responsible and refined management from the perspective of education.

C. Employment services

At present, the graduation and employment of students is a key task faced by universities in various regions. Schools provide excellent resource conditions for students’ employment through various enterprise contacts and visits. These resources and information need to be conveyed to corresponding students faster, more widely covered, and more accurately. At the same time, it is also necessary to accumulate contact data between students and enterprises, continuously analyze and think.

Through this platform, the recruitment and employment information of enterprises can be published and accessed, while the interview contact data between students and enterprises can be collected and analyzed to form a presentation of graduation employment work results data, and gradually find the matching between enterprises and students.

How to build and what is the goal

We plan to purchase one set of integrated teacher and student service system, including 300 classroom intelligent terminals.

The platform utilizes a microservice framework to build, implement localization deployment, store all data resources locally, integrate and access educational administration data, one card data, student work data, etc., and communicate in real-time with intelligent terminals. The following functional classes can be achieved:

1.Course information function (classroom guidance, timetable display, class suspension update, holiday suspension, class check-in, course warning)

2.Information release function (announcement release, news release, promotional video and image display, classroom asset display, etc.).

3.Employment related services: recruitment information release and display, data collection, analysis and decision-making

4.Exam service functions (examination venue information display, candidate identity verification).

5.Big data analysis presentation (class attendance data analysis, teaching data big screen).

6.Classroom space management and IoT control (multimedia linkage control, automatic authorization by course, space reservation, space utilization analysis, video course evaluation).

7.Open data sharing (standard data interface, all data within the open system for school access)

Construction objectives

Build an integrated service platform for teacher and student education and teaching, providing comprehensive services for various tasks in the teaching process through the platform, and assisting in better implementation. The platform collects students’ classroom behavior data and employment interview check-in data, providing more comprehensive data analysis and early warning services; Establish a unified information dissemination channel on the platform to promote and convey various teaching information, including course information, suspension information, holiday arrangements, enrollment and employment information, school honors and culture, etc; The platform provides spatial dimension based operation and management control, linkage and analysis of classroom space utilization, classroom reservation information, classroom guidance, multimedia linkage control, space utilization rate, etc; The platform provides services such as information release and identity verification for daily exams.

Through this platform, we aim to cultivate students’ habit of studying diligently, especially during their freshman year, by establishing a certain level of discipline and providing classroom guidance services. At the same time, relying on the intelligent terminal information release function deployed in the classroom, various types of information during the teaching process are opened to students, facilitating students to intuitively understand the idle situation of classroom resources, school cultural propaganda, teaching concepts, enrollment and employment information, etc.

2、Teacher Role

Through this platform, teachers are provided with auxiliary data on the course, including the distribution of students’ attendance time points, absence warnings, etc., enabling them to focus on teaching the course and timely grasp and perceive the classroom situation.

3、The role of a counselor

Through this platform, real-time understanding of the course learning dynamics of students and classes can be achieved, abnormal warnings can be obtained in real-time, and students’ psychological dynamics can be discovered and further understood in a timely manner, improving the work dimension of student management.

4、Leadership role

Through this platform, real-time control of teaching progress and the progress of enterprise school recruitment work can be achieved, providing macro data basis for work evaluation and resource allocation.

5、Role of teaching operation and maintenance support

Through this platform, refined management is carried out for the operation and maintenance of teaching spaces, reducing daily operational pressure, and effectively ensuring the orderly development of teaching work Construction effect

Through the construction and implementation of this system, we aim to enhance the image of campus informatization, enhance the applicability and serviceability of smart campus applications, and better serve teaching, in line with the strategic requirements of the Education Informatization Action Plan.

Transforming passive services into proactive services, improving service quality and students’ learning experience, from point to surface, constructing good learning services and environmental experiences, providing strong practice for the construction of school academic atmosphere, allowing teachers and students to experience the value brought by informatization, and thus obtaining more support from teachers and students in the process of informatization construction.
